Mark Fennell

As Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Mr. Fennell leads Cognex’s global legal organization. Mr. Fennell’s responsibilities include corporate governance and board matters, SEC and insider trading compliance, commercial and corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, technology licensing, litigation, and employment law. Prior to joining Cognex in 2017, Mr. Fennell served as in-house counsel to HeartWare International (NASDAQ: HTWR) and Medtronic (NYSE: MDT). Mr. Fennell began his career at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP in Boston as a corporate attorney serving primarily private equity clients. Mr. Fennell is licensed in Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Mr. Fennell holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston College.
