Key Takeaways

Compact and durable touchscreen panels like VisionView Web offer a reliable alternative to PCs in factory environments. They withstand harsh conditions and reduce maintenance needs, making them ideal for automated production systems.

Compact and user-friendly: industrial touchscreen panels are built for machine vision operations

VisionView Web is a rugged, compact, and economical tool built for global compatibility. Like its predecessor the VisionView 900, it’s a strong fit for a wide range of automated production systems.

A busy factory floor brings plenty of hazards — vibrations, dust, jostled equipment, and exposure to solvents, grime, and moisture. While desktop PCs and laptops may seem convenient for manufacturing automation, their delicate components, open vents, and accessories can make them vulnerable in complex factory and distribution environments. Not to mention, they also require frequent maintenance and repairs, IT support, security patches, and software updates.

While their larger screens, additional computing power, and ample storage may be tempting for use in automation, they’re better suited to office settings. Safely out of harms’ way, any distractions that fully-connected PCs offer (quick game of Minesweeper?) are also removed.

Time to consider a more robust solution – no PC required.

Simplify your operations with a robust touchscreen solution

When it comes to data visualization and analytics, machine vision system operators gain a competitive edge from the simplicity and reliability of a compact, rugged industrial touchscreen monitor on production lines:

  • Interactive displays streamline the management of cameras, sensors, and images by providing real-time feedback
  • Compared to pricier PCs, they reduce costs and financial risk in the event of damage or failure
  • With only the essential operating system and applications, operators can effortlessly navigate, adjust settings, and ensure smoother production operations

VisionView family of devices: built for fast, accurate monitoring and response

The VisionView 900 – and its successor, VisionView Web – delivers on the advantages of touchscreens to enhance operations and boost productivity in several key ways:
It’s capable: With a user-friendly Human-Machine Interface (HMI) featuring a 9-inch (229 mm) industrial display, this cost-effective option allows operators to quickly identify issues on the manufacturing line so they can respond promptly. This increases throughput and avoids downtime. Images can also be saved for troubleshooting and process optimization.

It’s connected: VisionView Web monitors and manages Cognex In-Sight vision systems and DataMan barcode readers. It also enables production managers to create advanced machine vision applications that capture image data from Cognex cameras and sensors. VisionView apps can be configured to scan for words, letters, images, and defects, determining the next steps for scanned items: flawless parts are routed correctly, while defective items are sorted out.

It’s compact: Ideal for factory environments, VisionView Web offers stable mounting options, including the FastMount bracket, for stability and durability. It’s powered by a streamlined operating system designed for mobile devices and a set of apps configured to reduce distractions and overhead. It also uses an optimized version of Cognex VisionView software, which provides familiarity for PC users while streamlining touchscreen operation.

It's customizable: As the latest upgrade to the VisionView 900, VisionView Web expands its flexibility and capabilities to provide even more precise adjustments and monitoring.

Essential features equip operators with all the tools they need

The VisionView Web allows workers to comfortably manage production flow, adjust inspections, refocus cameras, and quickly load or save preset jobs. They can keep a close eye on the entire production line, while reducing errors.

  • IP65 rating for moisture protection
  • Vibration resistance for reliability
  • Password-protected interface for secure access
  • LED indicators (green/red) for pass/fail results
  • Options to load jobs, adjust tool settings, and identify regions of interest
  • Two USB ports for mouse, keyboard, or additional storage
  • Monitoring of up to nine In-Sight vision systems or DataMan barcode readers
  • Standard Ethernet ports for hassle-free network integration

Companies can also run third-party software. See how Integro Technologies developed the innovative VisionVault application for deployment on the VisionView 900.

The right tools in the right place make all the difference

Having the right tools at the production line makes everyone’s job easier. While PCs or laptops have their place, certain environments call for purpose-built devices designed for industrial challenges. The VisionView 900 was a huge step forward in optimizing manufacturing monitoring for teams on the floor, and today, the VisionView Web continues to evolve to better meet changing needs.
