Overview

The student will learn the basics needed to read a large variety of easy and difficult codes with DataMan readers. Challenges faced with DPM codes and basics of verification are also introduced.

The duration of this course is 1 day.

Objectives

At the end of this Training Course Participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate how to connect the DataMan reader to the network.
  2. Outline what each type of symbology is used for.
  3. Utilize the various application settings to successfully read a difficult code.
  4. Configure both a digital input and a digital output line.
  5. Employ the utilities available to deploy the system.
  6. Troubleshoot a wide variety of issues that could prevent the
  7. DataMan reader from running properly.
  8. Discuss the different Lighting Techniques.

Prerequisite

  1. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment.
  2. For students attending the on-demand and live online trainings, we recommend having a DataMan reader and some test codes to test functionalities during the lab sessions.

RECOMMENDED AUDIENCE

Electricians, Technicians, Engineers, Maintenance Personnel, and Managers, as well as Control, Process, and Quality Engineers who need to be able to understand the installation, connection, acquisition, inspection, communication and troubleshooting necessary to read challenging codes using DataMan handheld and fixed-mount readers.
