Deep learning technology is starting to be used more widely for factory automation. It offers many advantages such as reducing application development time, solving challenging or difficult-to-program machine vision tasks that are currently performed by human inspectors.
Like any new disruptive technology, it is important to prove that it works and can be deployed at a large scale. Migrating from a lab or proof of concept environment to an industrial environment is often not so easy, pitfalls can vary, and it is important to have a structured roll out.
Based on experience and feedback from deep learning deployments across the world, we are sharing some best practices to help to accelerate the use, deployment, and validation of deep learning technology on factory floor.
