Cognex partner, Acrovision, has a nice video with a great example of the new DataMan 300 fixed system reading barcodes on DVD packages. With 1-D barcodes in any orientation, including short height barcodes and codes under shinkwrap packaging, applications that are very difficult to solve with laser barcode scanners are easy with DataMan image-based readers.
