This training class is designed to equip attendees with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in using C# within the context of VisionPro Deep Learning API and .Net framework, VPDL Studio Scripting and deployment in Cognex Designer. 

Overview

This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, ensuring that students gain the skills needed to effectively use C# in various aspects of machine vision and automation with Cognex Designer.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Understand how to leverage C# .NET API for various tasks.
  • Learn how to use the Runtime C# API to manage and control runtime processes.
  • Understand the Training C# API for developing and refining machine learning models.
  • Practice writing and executing scripts within the script editor environment.
  • Learn how to integrate VPDL with Cognex Designer for enhanced machine vision capabilities.

    1. VPDL params control
    2. VPDL results extract for Red, Blue and Green tools
    3. VPDL Red tool image results using with standard VPro tools
  2. VPDL Studio plugins
    1. Script Editor → extract example results for Analyze tool
    2. Script Editor → upload regions (defect labels) to Analyze tool
    3. Script Editor → how to operate Blue Read labels
  3. VPDL C# API - Visual Studio building app
    1. Project building for VS
    2. Training API (create and save workspace, setup tool parameters, training ViDi tools)
    3. Runtime API (control runtime workspace)
    4. Tool chain
  4. VPDL C# API - Visual Studio building app
    1. Building GUI app for runtime workspace

Prerequisite

  1. Knowledge of VisionPro Deep Learning or ViDi tools.
  2. Knowledge of Cognex Designer Standard.
  3. Familiarity with developing applications using Microsoft Visual Studio .Net framework.
  4. Working knowledge of C# programming language.
  5. Students attending live online sessions will use TeamViewer to remotely control Cognex workstations in our training centers. Cognex will provide a valid business license for TeamViewer. Customers must ensure the software is allowed by their IT departments.
  6. Students attending the on-demand program (self paced) will need a valid VisionPro and In-Sight ViDi license. If you don't have one, we recommend reaching out to your local Cognex sale representative.
  7. Students attending the on-demand program (self paced) will need a compatible NVIDIA® GPU.
